Definition
The Student's test for paired data is an alternative of the Student's t-test, that compares mean between two groups, for paired data. Paired data are data where pairs are less different from each other than from another data of the dataset.
In practice
This test has to be used when you compare paired data like cases and controles or before and after treatment.
How to use it on EasyMedStat?
- Go to Statistics > Test variables
- Choose the two Numeric variables you want to compare
- Click on "Compare mean values of ... between groups of patients"
For example, if you want to compare the mean pain score before and after treatment, choose "Pain before treatment" for the first variable and "Pain after treatment" for the second variable
