The Wilcoxon's Signed Rank test

Definition


The Wilcoxon's Signed Rank test is a non-parametric test comparing the distribution of two paired samples.

It is an alternative to the Paired Student t-test when the variables are not assumed to be normally distributed.



In practice


The Wilcoxon's Signed Rank test is usually used when one wants to compare paired data of numeric variables: as before and after treatment or comparison between paired groups as treated-control groups.


How to use it on EasyMedStat?


  1. Go to Statistics > Test variables
  2. Select a first Numeric variable
  3. Select a second Numeric variable
  4. Click on "Compare values of ..."
